Two-day national seminar on “the best practices in higher education for quality management” conducted

Two-day national seminar on “the best practices in higher education for quality management” was organized by IQAC, St. Joseph’s College (SJC), Jakhama and sponsored by UGC-NAAC from March 24-25.
The convener of the seminar Fr. Anthony Dukru delivered a prelude of the college where he quoted that “education is an indication of human development” and that “to implement higher education, quality education is needed”. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Ousepparampil, the principal of the college delivered the presidential address. He also highlighted some characteristics in working towards quality education.
The keynote speaker for the seminar Dr. B.S. Madhukar, advisor NAAC, Bangalore, said that that teachers play a vital role towards achieving quality education and autonomy leads to employability.
Earlier, the HoD of Sociology department, Dr.  Medonuo Pienyu gave the welcome address, followed by lighting of the lamp by Dr. B.S. Madhukar, Rev. Fr. Sebastian, Fr. Anthony Dukru, Sir Saju, HoD of Economics and Yanphong Konyak, the students’ council president. The cultural association of St .Joseph’s College presented an ethnic cultural fusion dance signifying the cultural unity despite cultural diversity. Other highlighters included special number by Moa, dance by Kalivi and friends. Fr. Dr. Anand SJ, local representative, IQAC member was the chairperson, with Zeineikho Pfukha as master of ceremony and vote of thanks was delivered by James H.K. The programme was attended by various dignitaries and faculty members from different colleges in and around Nagaland.
