The 5th Spring Fest of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama was held on March 9 and 10 at the college campus under the theme ‘Invigorating Tradition’. Dr. Anungla Phom, Director, DUDA was the guest speaker at the inaugural session. She emphasized on the importance of preserving and promoting “our” own culture, adding speaking our mother tongue impeccably is more impressive than speaking English fluently, informed a press release.
Colored Keys enthralled the crowd, while special appearance was made by the Lords of Rock.
“The Spring Fest gave a platform to all Josephites to showcase their talents in various events such as traditional car racing, folk dance, bamboo walk, fire making, beat contest, modern dance, ethnic fashion show, photography, etc,” said the press release. The event also paved way for the students to learn more about the different tribes of Nagaland, it added.
The fest was also attended by various dignitaries and student leaders from colleges in Kohima and Dimapur. The organizing committee on behalf of the college has thanked all the sponsors for their support in making the fest a “grand success.”Pages:
