Advisor, School Education, K.T. Sukhalu said as per population, Nagaland has the highest percentage of government employees and asserted that the government has been working to empower the youth’s marketable skills to access labour market and also invest in their skill development.
He was speaking as special guest at the graduation day of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama on July 20, at the College Indoor Stadium. According to DIPR report, Sukhalu while addressing the graduates advised them to stay focussed on what they want in life and choose their path wisely saying that each one has a role to play in contributing and building the state’s economy. He also focused on entrepreneurship and stated that promotion of sports and various other platforms are being taken up by the state government through various schemes.
Sukhalu assured the students that the government was committed to sanction scholarships on time. He also encouraged the students to preserve one’s culture and customs. He cautioned them on the harmful effects of social media especially the spreading of false messages and reminded them to use the platform wisely.
Principal St. Joseph’s College, Dr. Fr. Sebastian Ousepparampil also encouraged the graduates to reach out and help the state and country and be the pride ad delegates of the institution.
The winner of the Best Graduate, Kedoseno Rino, also spoke during the event. Meritorious awards were presented to the graduates and some of the successful students of the institute. Around 900 students graduated from the batch of 2016-19.Pages:
