Fr. Dr. Sebastian Ousepparampil, the Principal, in his welcome address exclaimed the day as a momentous moment for the Josephite’s family. He further remarked that the college autonomy has now opened the most crucial gate: the gate to future development and challenges. He joyously welcomed the gathering in the best fitting manner. Later, he also presented the prospects and arenas of what it means to be an autonomous college and the dream to become Deemed University in the future.

Most Rev. James Thoppil, the Bishop of Kohima, in his words of felicitation pointed out that the Josephites can now boast of a labour past and a promising future before Smt. She exhorted the students to believe in their dreams ensuring a safe landing wherever they go. Like any work of art which has beginning, middle and end where there is a climax, Chishi added that one should not end in the climax due to catastrophic fall but maintain a fine finish to continue doing good. She was also awarded a Certificate of Recognition and appreciation by the college for her significant contribution in the field of Higher education in the state and her vital role to SJC as the Director of the department.

The programme saw entertaining items like Manipuri dance, Choir, Lotha cultural dance, Rhythm shackles, Swalla Girls and Stack Ivories. Earlier, Rev. Fr. Dr. Boniface SJ did the invocation for the success of the day. It was hosted by Mr. William Ramai and Ms Natalia Rhutso.
